For professionals

Thanks to funding from the Local Workforce Action Board and Cheshire and Mersey Transforming Care Partnership, CWP in partnership with parent-carers, has developed a suite of training packages for family members, other unpaid carers, support workers and personal assistants.

The training covers a range of areas that families have told us are important to them, learning topics include:

  • Family and carers as partners
  • Healthcare for people with learning disabilities
  • STOMP for carers
  • Communication
  • Children and young people
  • Preparing for adulthood
  • Law, ethics and safeguarding

To sign up for the training please contact your employer, for more information please email with your name and email address.

Developed with family members, the all new CANDDID training modules provide interactive online training and are supported by facilitated sessions. Each module aims to provide practical advice, solutions and tips.

Employers of support workers and personal assistants can access the training for a small charge.

Completed modules are designed to be dynamic and feedback from users will be used to improve the content and learning experience.
