CANDDID Annual Report 2022/2023

Foreword by Prof Sujeet Jaydeokar, Academic Director and Chair of CANDDID

annual report.PNGWelcome to our annual report of the Centre for Autism, Neurodevelopmental Disorders, and Intellectual Disability (CANDDID).

CANDDID was set up in 2018 to facilitate development of academic activities in this field and to act as a platform for those with lived experience, professionals working in the field, and clinical academics to collaborate on training, education, and research.

Our aim was to establish a centre of academic excellence through collaborative partnerships. Over the past few years, we have been slowly building up a portfolio of activities and have established a number of collaborative links with agencies, organisations, and universities working in this field.

I am pleased to share a snapshot of our work and collaborations from the last year which demonstrate our commitment to meeting our strategic aim and objectives. The report highlights some of the innovative and collaborative approaches that CANDDID have taken in developing a culture of research, evaluation, education and training.

CANDDID wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and hard work of a number of people, including those with lived experience, over the years. I am, on behalf of CANDDID, grateful for their contribution, which has often come from their personal time and commitment. I am also thankful to Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CANDDID’s host organisation) for their unwavering support and encouragement.

Do join us in our journey.
